Dr Emmanuel Nsutebu is an award-winning author and consultant physician in infectious diseases. He is currently working at Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City (SSMC), Abu Dhabi as chair of the Tropical and Infectious Disease Division. He is President of the African Sepsis Alliance and member of the Global Sepsis Alliance executive committee and board. He works with international colleagues and stakeholders to lead improvements in sepsis across the African continent.
He has won numerous local, national and international awards for turning around problems in healthcare. This includes the 2018 Global Sepsis Award for sepsis improvement in Africa and WhysMan Award from the Find your Why Foundation. In December 2021, he was awarded the Distinguished Physician Leader Award for Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City.
Dr Emmanuel is a global citizen. He was born in Cameroon and has lived in Australia and the UK. He now lives in Abu Dhabi, UAE with his soul mate and the love of his life, his wife Lydia. He has three beautiful daughters (Kelly, Emma and Sidi) who help keep him out of trouble. He enjoys coaching people to overcome struggles in life and to turn major problems in healthcare into success.
